Further strengthening the Goshen-Pleasant HIll Fire Districts' relationship, Andrew Smith was promoted to "Division Chief for Training and Operations' on June 2, 2016.
Chief Smith serves our Districts with over 10 years experience as a firefighter/officer. He currently has earned his FIre Officer 2, Hazmat IC, Instructor 2 and EMT-I certifications.
Both Fire Boards approved a proposed Chain of Command showing Division Chief Smith as second in command subsequent to the promotion.
The announcement was heartily welcomed by both Goshen and Pleasant Hill volunteers as well as neighboring districts.
"I have every confidence [Andrew Smith] will make an excellent chief officer", stated John Wooten, Fire Chief, South County Fire & Rescue.
"Andrew has proven himself to be a competent Fire Officer and Incident Commander, as well as effective leader and manager", said Goshen-Pleasant Hill Interim Chief Steve Abel.
A short ceremony for Chief Smith will be held subsequent to regular Drill on June 2, 2016 at 7:00 pm.
