The process of finding the right Chief
Goshen Fire District continues in its search for a Fire Chief to lead their District. After an 30 day advertising period and subsequent review of applications Goshen has brought forth four (4) candidates to take part in an extensive assessment and testing process.
The process includes the following:
July 14, 2016 - 7:00 pm Open Community Meet and Greet
This is an opportunity for staff, volunteers and community members to meet the candidates,
see our fire district, offer input and be engaged in the process.
July 14, 2016 - 8:00 - 5:00 pm Assessment Centers
Goshen has chosen to use a rigorous assessment process in which candidates are engaged in a series of scenarios targeted to identify their experience, training, strengths and weaknesses. The 5-center testing process includes over 15 assessors representing area Fire Chiefs, Fire District Command Staff, Oregon State Police, Lane County Sheriff's Office, State Fire Marshall's Office, Lane Community College Public Safety, local business owners and local community members. The outcome of this assessment center will be a summary recommendation to the hiring Board of Directors.
July 14, 2016 - 9:00 - 4:00 pm Board Candidate Interviews in Executive Session per ORS 192.660(7)(D)(A-C)
The Boards of both Pleasant Hill Fire District and Goshen Fire District will formally interview each candidate in executive session.
Goshen is proud to commit to such a rigorous hiring process and is confident the outcome will identify right leader for our Fire District.
