Fire Chief Recruitment Opens
The Pleasant Hill and Goshen Fire Districts have formally opened a national search for a new Fire Chief. Reporting to the Goshen Board of Directors, the new Chief will serve both Districts, managing a career staff of 4, and volunteer base of approximately 48.
This position is a great opportunity to lead a growing organization with a strong, motivated volunteer base. The Districts use a combined respond from home and shift staffing model which provides both resident, and non-resident volunteers the opportunity to serve the communities. Partnered with Lane Community College's EMT and Paramedic programs, Goshen has a rich tradition of providing valuable training and skills to early career responders. A Training Officer, Logistics Lieutenant, and 2-year FEMA Grant funded firefighter create a strong career staff base.
The Chief will lead 3 stations, including a newly remodeled (2013) Administrative Headquarters. With a combined budget of 1.7 million and as well as a successful grant procurement history the districts are well positioned for a new leader.
