3-Alarm Fire Destroys 3 Mobile Homes Near Pleasant Hill

Fast Spreading Fire Displaces 7 Injuring 1.

Crews from Pleasant Hill – Goshen Fire Districts responded to a reported mobile home fire spreading to an adjacent mobile home, just after 4:00 am this morning. On arrival firefighters found a fully involved mobile home with fire spreading to units on both adjacent sides. The fire was quickly upgraded to a second alarm, adding additional resources. Firefighters were met with extensive fire in the middle unit that had already spread to the next-door unit and was spreading to a third unit on the opposite side. Firefighters worked quickly to contain the fire to the primary units limiting extension to any of the rear units. All residents were confirmed to be outside the structures. One occupant from the effected residents was out on arrival but had suffered injuries and was subsequently transported to Riverbend Hospital.

Firefighters from Pleasant Hill – Goshen along with Dexter, Lowell, Southlane County, Eugene Springfield, McKenzie and Coburg Fire Districts responded to the scene to assist. Due to a lack of fire hydrants, firefighters used water tenders to shuttle water into the scene to support suppression efforts. The fire was declared under control at 5:19am. The cause of this fire is still under investigation. Early damage estimate has been listed at $175,000. The Red Cross is assisting the displaced residents.

Pleasant Hill and Goshen Fire wish to extend our thanks to our neighboring agencies for their support and resources on this fire. Quality working relationships between agencies has proven time and time again to best serve our communities.
